Our 3.2ha vineyard was planted in 1991 to Pinot Noir only. The soil of the vineyard is modest – it sits on heavy mudstone with a predominantly northerly aspect. The northern position allows for good exposure to wind, a high-temperature fluctuation between day and night and optimal exposure to the sun. It enjoyed organic farming practices through most of the 90’s and early 2000’s however some herbicide was applied prior to our purchase of the property in 2009. We reverted back to organic methods and introduced organic practices in order to restore soil balance and fertility. We take our role as custodians of the land seriously, aiming to leave our environment better than we found it.
